Robert Muir Somerville Past Master and secretary having by petition unto the lord Lyon king of arms of date 31st December 1977 for and on behalf of the Lodge Oswald of Dunnikier shewn that the Oswald of Dunnikier Lodge was founded on 4th February 1867 to serve the Disrict of Kirkcaldy that ensigns armorial were recorded in the public register of all arms and bearings in Scotland (volume 27 folio 62 ) of date 20th October 1927 in the name of the Grand Lodge of Scotland and the Petitoner having prayed that the foresaid ensigns armorial might be matriculated of new in the name of the Oswald of Dunnikier Lodge no 468 the lord Lyon king of arms by interlocutor of date 25th September 1978 granted warranty to the Lyon clerk to matriculate in the public register of all arms and bearings in Scotland in name of the petitioner the following ensigns armorial vitelicet ;- pate,dexter vert on a chevron or between three towers proper a pair of compasses extended cheveron wise sable sinister azure a closet or between in chief a savage wreathed about the loins with bay leaves proper and bearing in his sinister hand a baton erected on his shoulder vert and in the dexter a cross staff pointing therewith to a star placed in the dexter chief point or in base the figure of saint bryce with long garments on his head a mitre in the dexter hand a fleur de lys the sinister laid upon his breast all proper standing in the porch of a church or abbey of three pyramids argent each consigned with a cross patee or matricated the first day of may 1979 extracted furth of the 8th page of the 62nd volume of the public register of all arms and bearings in scotland this 5th day of may 1979.
